The ACA is home to over 100 member agencies ranging in size and scope – all of whom are committed to real change – a profession that accurately represents the diversity of the society in which we operate. Together, we create opportunities to discover and nurture the abundant talent throughout our nation.

Membership tiers


Representation of membership

There are two tiers of membership, ie. corporate and individual, which will have different benefits due to their status of membership. The new tier is the Individual Membership and a few additions to the Corporate Membership, which includes the current members. There will be different benefits allocated to different membership tiers.

The membership fees have also been recalibrated. The ACA’s revenue is still highly dependent on member agencies. The Individual Members will not be a revenue source but a transformation imperative.

Individual membership


We propose four individual membership types.

Freelancers &

Open to individuals that providing freelance or consulting services to agencies within the communication space.

Qualification criteria

Minimum of two years freelance or consulting experience; and at least three references of consistently high quality of work.

R 2 000.00

Young professionals

Qualification criteria

A Diploma or Degree in communication along with a minimum of one year’s work experience. Or for those without formal qualification, a minimum of three years experience within the profession.

Annual Fees

R 1 000.00


Open to individuals holding a minimum of a mid level position within and agency or associated communication business space.

Qualification criteria

Minimum of three years work experience within Creative, Client Service, Production, Strategy department, etc. (e.g. MW Art Director or Copywriter, Account Director, MW Strategist, etc.

Annual Fees

R 5 000.00


Qualification criteria

Students currently registered at any of the recognized and accredited advertising schools.
A nominal membership fee will be agreed upon in consultation with the schools.

Corporate membership


We propose three corporate membership types.


Advertising; media; PR and/or Digital agencies.


Start up agencies that have been in operation for less than 2 years.
